Sailing the British Virgin Islands

This itinerary is just a sample to give you an idea of what you can expect during a week's charter in the British Virgin Islands. We'll tailor this itinerary based on what you want to experience during your time on board. Busy and active, quiet and laid back or a bit of both, we'll make sure your vacation is designed specifically for you.

Day 1

Step aboard Copper Penny at Village Cay Marina in Road Harbour on Tortola. After settling in and going through a safety briefing we'll sail down to Norman Island and anchor in the Bight for lunch. Afterward, snorkel the Caves or visit the infamous Willy T's bar. Climb back aboard in time to depart for Great Harbour on Peter Island. Explore the harbour on paddleboard or participate in some watersports.

As the sun goes down enjoy Happy Hour with hors d'oeurvres and one of the Captain's specialty rum drinks. Dining is al fresco at the cockpit dining table. Head up to the flybridge after dinner for a nightcap and a lovely view of the lights on Tortola.

Day 2

We'll depart Great Harbour and anchor in Deadman's Bay, right in front of the pristine beach of Peter Island resort. This is a great place to swim, paddleboard or just laze on the beach. After lunch we'll head to Salt Island and pick up a park mooring ball where you willl dive the Wreck of the Rhone. Cooper Island will be our final destination for a snorkel at Carvel Rock, Happy Hour and a fantastic sunset.

Day 3

Depart Cooper Island first thing in the morning to get a good spot at the Baths on Virgin Gorda. Climb through the rock formations and spend some time enjoying the beach. We'll make our way up to Mountain Point for lunch and a snorkel or dive.

In the afternoon we'll motor into North Sound where you can enjoy Michael Beans' Happy Arrrr show at Leverick Bay or the tarpon feeding at 5:00 pm on Saba rock. At the Bitter End resort you can hike Guy's Trail, peruse some of the shops or watch the kiteboarding action.

Day 4

After breakfast we'll pop the sails for Anegada. It's a 2-3 hour sail, weather permitting, and you won't see the 28' atoll until well into the journey. Once there you'll have lunch on board then take a taxi from the Reef Hotel to Loblolly Bay for a day of beaching and snorkeling. Have Happy Hour on board then head back to Anegada for lobster dinner on the beach.

Day 5

We'll depart in the morning for Marina Cay. There we'll have lunch, then you can snorkel or dive Diamond Reef. Afterward, we'll pop around the corner to secluded Lee Bay on Great Camanoe Island where you can explore the bay via kayak, paddleboard or with fins and snorkel.

Day 6

It's a short trip from Lee Bay to Monkey Point on Guana Island for some great snorkeling. Then we'll sail to Jost Van Dyke where you will have lunch and enjoy the afternoon at White Bay with it's beautiful beach and turqoise water. Grab a painkiller or two from the Soggy Dollar bar and relax. We'll make the quick trip to Great Harbour in time for Happy Hour which you can celebrate on board or at Foxy's bar.

Day 7

A morning sail will take us to Sopers Hole on the West End of Tortola where you can do some shopping. Afterward we'll make our way back to Norman Island where we'll anchor in Benure's Bay for an afternoon of watersports and snorkeling or diving. Enjoy your last evening on board in this pristine and quiet anchorage.

Day 8

Snorkel the reef one last time then we'll sail back to Road Harbour in time for your noon departure.
